Bangalore (now Bengaluru), is a fast growing, mainly modern city and the centre of India’s IT industry. However, there are still a number of interesting things to see south of the city centre, including Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, the Lalbagh botanical gardens and Gavi Gangadhareshwara temple.

Tipu Sultan's Palace

Gavi Gangadhareshwara Temple

Gangadhareshwara is one of Bangalore’s oldest temples built in a cave. There are a number of granite pillars , two of which support huge discs representing the sun and the moon. Two others support a trident and a bull.

Lalbagh Botanical Gardens

The Lalbagh botanical gardens cover 240 acres and with Cubbon Park give Bangalore the name of ‘Garden City of India’. We found Lalbagh a pleasant place to stroll around away from the busy city.
