Hampi's Boulders

Hampi's Boulders - Description

Hampi’s Boulders is built on the banks of the river Tungabhadra and is designed to give a feel for the boulder strew landscape. It’s a quirky, interesting place to stay and convenient for the World Heritage site which is just 50 minutes away by car.

Rooms are simple but clean and food is good using produce from the organic farm attached to the resort.

The 16 rooms are in a series of cottages nestled throughout the resort, each with a slightly different character and maximising the surrounding natural landscape.  Being a rustic property in a rural location does mean that you can expect the odd ‘visitor’ but this is a real haven for nature lovers.  There are monkeys, birds, otters and even crocodiles in the river.  Guided walks are offered to explore the surrounding area and visit a nearby waterfall.  There is a lovely pool made out of a natural rock formation which is ideal for a refreshing dip.

Meals are taken in a separate building where South Indian home cooked style vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are served using produce from the organic farm attached to the resort. Guests stay on Half Board basis which includes breakfast and evening meal which is normally buffet style, although outdoor BBQ’s are sometimes held around a camp fire.

There are a number of walks available along the river; to the water fall or across small bridges to an island in the river. It is also a good area for bird watching. The hotel has a “Club house” with table tennis and a pool table but don’t expect TV’s, WiFi or newspapers.

For nature lovers and for proximity to Hampi, Boulders is unbeatable.
