Garh Jaisal

Garh Jaisal - Description

We loved this stylishly restored haveli located within the walls of Jaisalmer Fort.

Rooms retain their original character but are brought up to date with modern facilities and splashes of vibrant colours in the soft furnishings. There are only seven rooms at the haveli – each one beautifully decorated with their own theme and colour combination to create individual atmosphere.

The rooftop restaurant and lounging area is a real highlight – the views across the fort, city and desert are simply stunning. Breakfast is a nutritious selection of eggs, fruit, muesli and fresh orange juice. Lunch and dinner are also served on the rooftop terrace with food being sourced from nearby restaurants including Rajasthani Thali, Continental and Chinese cuisine. Although the hotel doesn’t have a pool, this is the perfect place to soak up some rays and drink in the views accompanied by a cold beer or two.

Owner Mukesh took seven years designing the chic Indo-French style interiors, opening in August 2006. The result is a wonderful boutique haveli bursting with authentic character tucked into the ramparts of the fort. He has established a team of friendly staff that will ensure your stay here is comfortable and full of memories from this fascinating living fort in the desert.

Although Jaisalmer Fort is still in need of preservation, it is no longer on the World Monuments Watchlist. A proportion of money from your stay helps the restoration funds.
