Lombok is very different from Bali’s small country roads and busy streets. You arrive to dual carriageways and open roads. Lombok is an interesting island with a lot to see. It has the benefit of still developing as a tourist destination, so it is not as busy as neighbouring Bali. One of the best parts of Lombok is the Coastline, with beautiful beaches, amazing reefs and stunning islands. It is paradise for divers and snorkelers. The waters are rich with life and the corals vibrant with colour. There are a few clusters of islands called Gili, each one offering you a different experience from simple sandbars you can enjoy watching the sunset on to party islands where you can dance the night away. But the coast isn’t all Lombok has to offer, you can enjoy cultural experiences with the native Sasak in local villages, learning about the weaving that makes beautiful fabrics and the traditional Lombok houses on stilts.  If you want to go hiking  in the Rinjani National Park there are a great selection of trails with hot springs and waterfalls. You can also take on a challenge to climb the huge Mount Rinjani, where you can enjoy a 4 day trek to the top for stunning views of the surrounding area and the impressive crater.
