Sumbawa culture is similar to that of other parts of West Nusa Tenggara. They do have some unique traditions. Families are very close and often work the rice fields together. The main religion is the sunni islam faith, with local traditions incorporated. Sakeco music is very popular and can often be hard in villages. The main economy is agriculture and animal care.
